Gracie Peng

NYS Mental Health Counselor Associate (Columbia University)

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, as we have been carrying things on our own for a long time or are not sure what to expect or where to begin. Rest assured knowing that this is exactly the place where you don't need to have all the answers but a willingness to show up.

My name is Gracie and I am currently a Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Teachers College, Columbia University. My background includes research on adolescent sleep and mental health, as well as experience supporting individuals through emotional, academic, and life challenges.

Having lived and studied across different cultures from a young age, I understand how confusing it can be to navigate different expectations while not losing who you are in the process. This experience has shaped my commitment to supporting young adults, international students, and individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, cultural adjustment, and questions of identity and self-worth. I hope to create a space where you feel comfortable exploring different parts of yourself that you may not yet fully know or understand.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. Drawing from psychodynamic, person-centered, and psychospiritual approaches, I believe meaningful growth begins with developing a deeper understanding of who we are and learning to view ourselves with greater compassion. When we become more aware of our patterns, emotions, and experiences, we can make more intentional choices that feel aligned with our values and authentic selves.

Together, I hope to be a companion on your journey of self-exploration. I aim to bring you a space where we can approach your experiences with curiosity, while every emotion you bring is welcomed and held with care.
