Kaining Liu
NYS Mental Health Counselor Associate (Columbia University)
I offer bilingual therapy (English/Mandarin) with deep respect for each person’s complexity. I believe healing begins when we face all parts of ourselves.
As someone who has lived between cultures, I understand the emotional tension of navigating identity and relationships. My style is direct, compassionate, and empowering. I aim to support you in building self-acceptance, breaking unhelpful patterns, and taking meaningful action.
Jiayi Xu
NYS Mental Health Counselor Associate (Columbia University)
When I moved to the United States at 15, I faced language barriers, cultural differences, and the loneliness of being far from home. Adjusting to an entirely new environment was not easy, but those experiences taught me resilience, empathy, and growth. This journey also gave me a deep understanding of the challenges of cross-cultural life and the longing to feel truly seen and supported.
Shihua Liu
NYS Mental Health Counselor Associate (Columbia University)
From a very young age, I felt drawn to understanding people and their inner worlds. At 18, I moved from China to the U.S., where I began my journey in counseling. Having lived between two cultures, I bring a deep sense of empathy and insight into the challenges of life transitions, cultural adaptation, and reconciling personal identity.
I am naturally expressive in daily life, but in the therapy room I prioritize listening with presence and care. My counseling style is open and collaborative, grounded in deep listening and respect for each client’s unique story.
